Time running out to share views on future of Bailey Park
Thursday 21st of December 2017
Residents, businesses and organisations have until Wednesday 20th December to take part in a survey on the future of Abergavenny’s Bailey Park. The survey has been designed to improve facilities in the park to meet the future needs of the town.
Local groups from Abergavenny, the Friends of Bailey Park and Abergavenny Town Team have compiled the survey and are working closely with local community groups, the town council and the county council to give the much-loved park a new lease of life.
The thoughts and feelings of local residents and visitors to the park are vital to its future to make it a more accessible and vibrant space for all ages. Bailey Park is a hive of activity all year with many local sporting groups such as Abergavenny Rugby Club and Bailey Park Bowls Club using facilities to compete, train and socialise. These groups and many others will be integral to the engagement process.
County Councillor Bryan Jones said: ‘Bailey Park is so important for the health and wellbeing of both local people and visitors. Listening to the voices of local community organisations and communities from surrounding areas is essential to discover how they would like to see the space improved and we encourage everyone to complete the survey.’
Results of the survey will provide evidence from the community and inform the next steps of a funding bid to improve the park and its facilities.
The survey is available via the Monmouthshire County Council website http://tinyurl.com/yce8fe8x and must be completed by Wednesday 20th December. For more information contact Mark Cleaver on 07976 791031 or MarkCleavermonmouthshire.gov.uk
