Work on Hafan Cefni progressing well

Work is progressing well on the new £10.3 million Extra Care Housing Scheme in Llangefni.

Hafan Cefni is expected to open a show apartment for viewings in February 2018. The completion date is summer 2018.

The Hafan Cefni Extra Care scheme is a development by Tŷ Glas Housing Society, part of the Pennaf Housing Group, in partnership with the Isle of Anglesey County Council.

The scheme will consist of 63 Extra care 1 and 2 bedroom high quality apartments, of which 15 are specifically designed and adapted for older people with memory loss or living with dementia.

Clwyd Alyn Housing Association will provide the housing management and ancillary services on-site as the managing agent for Tŷ Glas Housing Society, whilst the County Council will commission the provision of 24 hour on-site care for the tenants with an assessed need.

Extra Care Housing – What current Extra Care residents say:

Margaret moved into extra care from a nursing home.

“It’s absolutely wonderful to have the extra independence that you have here, I now have a home of my own again, and all the help I could need on hand. When I moved in, I made myself a cup of tea. It was the first time in four years I’d been able to put my own kettle on and make a cuppa just when I wanted it”.

Resident at Tan y Fron Extra Care, Conwy.

“Moving from a nursing home to an Extra Care apartment of my own has been fabulous”.

“It’s peaceful here, it’s lovely to have your own home with your own front door, but at the same time, you feel part of things with friendly people around you too. Being here really has definitely added to my quality of life”.

If you feel you would benefit from living in Hafan Cefni Extra Care, contact: 0800 183 5757.

Application forms are out now, and we strongly recommend if you’re interested in applying that you do so as soon as possible as the allocation process will be starting soon.

You should be aged 60 years and over and live in the Anglesey area (or have a strong local connection) and have an assessed care and support need. Application forms are now available and should be returned to Tŷ Glas with any supporting documents as soon as possible, as the allocations panel will soon start to consider the applications which have been received.

Ends 21.12.17
