Emergency service colleagues make kind Christmas foodbank donation

EMERGENCY service staff have teamed up to make a kind Christmas donation to a foodbank.

Colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service, Gwent Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, based at Abertillery Emergency Services Station, have raised £135 during December.

On Thursday (21 December) they took a car full of food bought with the funds to Blaenau Gwent Foodbank’s Distribution Centre at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Abertillery.

Welsh Ambulance Service Clinical Team Leader Andrew Gibb said: “Colleagues from all three emergency services have worked together and kindly donated money to buy these food items.

“We hope they will benefit families for whom Christmas can be a difficult time of year.&;
