Pupils receive educational support from local businesses

Selected pupils from St Martin’s Comprehensive School in Caerphilly are being offered increased support with their education thanks to local business Educalis.

Year 7 and 8 pupils who are residents of the Lansbury Park estate have the opportunity to receive additional help and support through supplementary tutoring. Pupils from year 10 through to year 13 are also able to mentor younger pupils while working towards AGORED approved qualifications in Peer Mentoring (facilitated by Panda Education and Training).

Cllr Philippa Marsden, Cabinet Member for Education and Achievement said: “I am delighted that pupils from St Martins School are able to receive such fantastic support from local businesses Educalis and Panda Education. The additional help with school work and opportunities for pupils to gain additional qualifications are a fantastic way to increase attainment and raise aspirations of pupils&;.
